Difference Between Sympathetic Nervous System And Parasympathetic Nervous
Sympathetic Nervous System
The sympathetic nervous system is also divided into two parts, namely the cranial autonomic nerves and the sacral autonomic nerves. This nervous system is connected to the spinal cord through its nerve fibers, located in front of the vertebral column.
The sympathetic nervous system functions to:
1. Scribe the heart muscle
2. Scribes blood vessels and unconscious muscles
3. Innerves all internal organs such as the stomach, pancreas and intestines
4. Serves secretory motor fibers in sweat glands
5. Motor fibers in involuntary muscles in the skin
6. Maintains the tone of all conscious muscles
Parasympathetic Nervous System
The parasympathetic nervous system is almost the same as the sympathetic nervous system, only the system works differently. If the sympathetic nervous system stimulates the heart, for example, the parasympathetic nervous system slows the heart rate.
The functions of the parasympathetic nerves are as follows:
1. Stimulates the secretion of the lacrimal glands, sublingual glands, submandibular glands and glands in the mucosa of the nasal cavity
2. Scribes the tear glands and mucosa of the nasal cavity
3. innervates the salivary glands
4. innervates the parotid gland
5. It supplies most of the organs of the body, namely the heart, lungs, GIT, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, liver and suprarenal glands.
6. It supplies the descending colon, sigmoid, rectum, urinary bladder and genitals.
SYMPATHETIC | PARASYMPATHETIC |
Enlarge the pupil of the eye | Shrinks the pupil of the eye |
Inhibits the release of saliva (saliva) | Help (stimulate) the secretion of saliva (saliva) |
Increases sweat and pancreatic secretions | Reduces sweat and pancreatic secretions |
Inhibits the secretion of enzymes in the digestive glands | Stimulates the secretion of enzymes in the digestive glands |
Inhibits bladder contractions (vesica Urinaria) | Shrink the bladder (vesica urinaria) |
Speed up heart rate | Slow down heart rate |
Increase blood volume | Reduce blood volume |
Enlarge coronary arteries | Narrowing of coronary blood vessels |
Narrow the pulmonary arteries and arteries in the genital organs | Enlarge the pulmonary arteries and arteries in the genital organs |
Widen the windpipe(bronkhia) | narrow the windpipe (bronchial) |
Wrinkled tortoise (spleen) | Dilates the spleen |
Causes uterine contractions during pregnancy and uterine relaxation in the absence of pregnancy | No effect on uterine contraction and relaxation |
