Liu Yifei EARLY YEARS, STUDIES:

Liu Yifei in Chinese :(刘亦菲) birth name An Feng (安风), legal name Liu Ximeizi (刘茜美子), nickname Crystal Liu was born on August 25, 1987, in Wuhan, China, at Tongji Hospital. His mother works as a dancer and performer, and his father earns his living as a university professor. After many arguments, his parents decided to go on with their lives separately, so Yifei stayed with his mother and his brother Liu Xiao Li. He was 10 years old when his parents divorced.

From the age of 8, his mother taught him to dance, sing and play the piano. For his ninth birthday, he received a crystal from his mother, which he liked so much that he used the nickname Crystal from then on. He still collects Swarovski crystals as a hobby.

At the age of 11, he moved to New York with his mother, where they lived for 4 years. Then in June 2002, little “Crystal” returned to China to start her acting career. In September of this year, he applied to the Beijing Film Academy, where he was among the lucky 500 who were accepted, out of 100,000 people. At the age of 14, he was their youngest student until then. In 2015, he starred in the romantic melodrama The Third Way of Love, a Chinese-South Korean co-production, as Song Seung-heon’s partner. She won the Most Anticipated Actress award at the 16th Chinese Film Media Awards. Also this year, Dior Prestige chose him as its first Chinese ambassador and Tissot as its global ambassador. In 2016, she co-starred with Kris Wu in the film Never Gone and then starred in the romantic drama Night Peacock, for which she won the 40th Academy Awards.
