We often make assumptions about our children. We think that these young children will not understand deep thoughts or feelings. But they have the ability to surprise us with their intelligence when we least expect it from them. How To Explain Private Organs To Children
These young minds are like sponges, whatever they see or hear soaks up – good or bad!!
I taught my 3-year-old about privacy when showering, using the washroom, or changing clothes.. and emphasized that he was not allowed to go to the bathroom or dressing room without permission. Is. Hence one should not enter into it without someone else’s consent.
I started taking her permission before entering the washroom so that she could understand better.
I can’t close the washroom because he is scared of being alone in the house, so asks me to keep the door open. However he will just knock the door or shout and stand at the door asking – “How much more time?” or “Come out quickly”; He will never enter. Which I did not realize till a day…
So this little boy of mine was in the shower while his friend came home to play. This curious boy wanted to enter the bathroom and also take a shower.
The moment this dude opened the door, my dinosaur boy roared – “Don’t enter the bathroom when someone is taking a shower”!!
I couldn’t believe my ears for a moment. It was like a few minutes of mixed emotions for me – pride, joy, tears (mom’s hormones of course).
So a lesson he learned and a lesson I learned – “Teach them from an early age, what you want them to believe and follow; What is right and necessary for them. And most importantly – practice first!!”
Practice what you preach!!
Children learn more from what they see. Like how they imitate us by polishing shoes, putting dishes in the sink, changing pajamas, reading newspapers, and talking on mobile.
They are watching us every single second.. and to make sure of something or the other.. whether we want it or not.
If we do not respect their privacy, they will never learn to respect others and will not be able to say no if their privacy is being compromised.
