Blowing balloons with gum is a habit that children and adults often do. This habit makes the process of chewing gum very enjoyable. Blowing bubble gum isn’t difficult, the key lies in proper breathing technique and how to handle the gum in your mouth. Everyone can do it, all it takes is a little practice.
Chewing Gum
1. First of All you Buy gum.
Chewing gum is available at almost every corner store. You can make gum balloons as you chew them, but you can’t make really big gumballs because they usually pop too easily. To start, choose a pack of brand-name gum like Double Bubble or Bazooka. A good selection of gum products will usually have a balloon printed on the package.
1. Some gum products have a stickier texture, which can make it harder to wipe off your face when the balloon pops. Generally, if you chew the gum longer before inflating the balloon, it will be less sticky.
2. Chewing gum that contains less sugar often has a stronger base for making balloons. This base has long molecules that add elasticity to the gum. The right amount will give the balloon the best texture.
3. Do not use gum that has been chewed for a long time. If your gum has been chewed for too long, it will become drier, more difficult to chew, and unable to be blown into a balloon. Use new gum for best results.
2. Chew a piece or piece of gum for beginners.
Chewing gum in large quantities at once does not necessarily make the balloon bigger. At this point, you’ve just learned how to blow bubblegum. Therefore, you should not put excessive amounts of gum in your mouth. Take a piece of gum out of the package and put it in your mouth.
3. Chewing the gum until it’s soft and smooth.
Chew in all parts of your mouth.
Chew until most of the flavor and sugar crystals are gone and the gum is very pliable (soft and malleable). This can take a few minutes, so be patient.
1. Don’t wait too long. After chewing it for a long time, about half an hour, the texture of the gum will deteriorate, becoming stiff and brittle, and also unable to be shaped.
Making Bubble Gum Balloons
From the gum into a ball with your tongue.
Use the roof of your mouth to hold the gum in place while you shape it into a ball. You don’t need to make it perfectly round, just gather the gum into a solid lump.
1. Position this ball of gum so that it is directly behind your front teeth. Use your tongue to flatten the ball into a small flat circle shape. Use the back of your teeth to help flatten it by pushing/grinding the gumball with the front teeth.
Blow air into the gum covering your tongue.
Blow slowly until you can feel the air begin to fill the inside of the gum and begin to push the gum out of your mouth in a balloon shape.
1. Many people make the mistake of blowing air out with their lips instead of blowing out air from the inside of their mouth. Blowing air with your lips is not strong enough to produce a good balloon. Therefore, make sure you put more energy into it when you blow it. The proper way to blow air into the gum layer is like a big sigh. Use your diaphragm to push air out and exhale.
Stick out your tongue to push the flattened gum.
Open your mouth slightly and stick your tongue out until it sticks out of your mouth and is covered by a thin layer of stretched gum. Be very gentle. If not, you can tear off the film with your tongue. If that happens, roll the gum into a ball again and start over. Keep
practicing as this step may be difficult for some people.
1. Practice in front of a mirror so you can make sure the tip of the gum is in the right position.
Pull your tongue out of the gum layer.
Once the air pressure begins to inflate the gum, you can retract your tongue. The ends of the teeth will help prevent the gum from escaping with your breath. Keep blowing slowly and steadily so the gum gradually expands.
1. Keep your mouth open. Resist the urge to close your lips after pulling your tongue. Keeping your mouth open will give you a larger area to blow air into the balloon.
Keep blowing as long as you can, or until the balloon pops.
Blow out slowly and regularly. This will give the balloon time to continue to inflate. See how far you can inflate it before it pops.
1. To make the biggest balloon, make a balloon inside. Avoid drafts and hot or cold temperatures. Wind and cold air can make the balloon pop more quickly, while hot air can make it too pliable and difficult to shape.
Close the balloon.
Pinch your lips slightly to close the balloon. This will prevent you from blowing more air into the balloon thereby making it larger than desired, or from preventing air from escaping the balloon.
1. To prevent the balloon from popping and getting on your face, you can pull the balloon back into your mouth and pop it with your tongue.
You can Practice and practice every time with these steps.
You probably won’t succeed the first few tries, but that’s part of the fun. Keep trying until it works and you can see how it feels. Blowing on a gum can get used to the jaw, mouth and diaphragm. With practice, you will strengthen these muscles and this process will become easier.
