Definition

Cervicitis is an inflammation of the cervix or cervix. The cervix is ​​the lowest part of the uterus, which serves as the entrance to the uterus from the vagina.

Cervicitis is a common disease that occurs due to infection or physical irritation. The tissue in the cervix that is inflamed will look red, swollen, slimy or pus. The infection can spread to other reproductive systems such as the uterus (womb) or fallopian tubes.

Diagnosis

Treatment

Cervicitis does not require treatment unless it is caused by an infection. Treatment for infections given depends on the cause – such as antibiotics for bacteria, anti-fungal for fungi, and anti-virals for viruses.
