How to Create and Advertise on eBay

How to Create and Advertise on eBay Account

eBay helps bridge sales between consumers in more than 30 countries. In listing and selling products, sellers pay a small fee on eBay. If you want to become a seller on eBay, list your items accurately and attractively so that buyers are interested and buy your items.

First Point: Create an eBay Account

Create Ebay Account

1. Visit eBay. com.

Select the option to create an account if you don’t have a username and password yet. Confirm your account via email address.

2. Create a seller account.

After logging into your normal eBay account, go to http://cgi4.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?SellerSignIn, which will ask you to confirm payment details in your seller account.

3. Agree to the terms and conditions of sale on this site.

Focus on the “Listing Conditions” section, because this is where you’ll find out how to list items in the official way. Make sure you can print shipping labels and ship items to sell successfully on eBay.

4. Review the applicable fees before you list an item at

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/questions/what-fees.html. Every time you list an item, you have to pay an insertion fee. Each time you sell an item, you will have to pay a final value fee based on the total amount sold.

5. Prepare the amount of costs and methods of payment for the buyer of goods.

Second Point: Researching Completed Ads

1. Click Advanced to the right of the search box.

You will be taken to an advanced search. While once you start creating your ad there will be a tool to do this, it’s easier to complete this step using the search box.

2. Check completed listings

All ads that ended in the last 15 days will be displayed.

3. Enter keywords and other descriptions if necessary

It is advisable to filter by item condition, as new and used items are sold differently. Click Search.

4. Sort items by date

This is a common sorting style. Sorting items by price may be attractive, but not realistic. You probably won’t get the highest price.

5. Find items that match yours

If the price is green, it means the item has been sold. If the price is red, it means the item has not been sold. Just pay attention to the items that have been sold.

6. Analyze the ads you find

Determine the price of goods that have been sold. Find out what made other users’ ads work or not. Use this information in your ad with care: Use it as a learning tool, not to plagiarize.

7. Glance at the unfinished ad

Do a new search for unfinished ads. If there are currently a lot of similar items on sale, you are better off waiting. The competition will lower the selling price. However, if you see a lot of ads and see that there are a lot of similar items for sale in advanced search, continue with your sales because demand is high.

Third Point: Create a description of the item being sold

1. Click the link with the words Sell at the top of the page

Read the “tips and hints” section.

2. Enter AD Title

The headline can be considered as the most important part of an advertisement, as it is the first and often the only impression a buyer has. Use lots of search keywords to describe your item (avoid using words that are impossible to search for like “WOW” and “L@@K”).

1. Include the brand name, manufacturer, artist, special attributes and a short description of the item.

Title

3. For branded products

Click Find your product to have eBay fill in most of the basic information in the title.

EAN

4. Type UPC or SKU if applicable.

5. Select an item category

Depending on what you did in the previous step, your item category may already exist. If so, make sure the categories are accurate. This will help others find items by type of media, clothing or other product they want to buy. There are two ways to find item categories.

1. Keyword Search: Type a short description of the item, and eBay will search for the category of item that is most likely to be found.
2. Browse Categories: Select the best category from the list.

category

6. Continue creating item descriptions

Include one photo, or up to 12 photos with a little extra charge, dimensions, color and shipping info. Be as specific as possible. Use the correct grammar and format so as to add buyer confidence.

1. To get more photos in your account without having to pay, you can create a double photo from Photoshop or another photo editing app and then upload a single photo that contains multiple angles of stuff.
2. Select a template insert. eBay recommends a few standard sentences within each section to help you sell your item.
3. Once you become an advanced seller, you can create HTML templates to reuse similar ads.

7. Click the button to compare items on eBay

This allows you to view ad competition and select the appropriate price.

8. Decide whether you want your ad to enter the auction or use regular sales.

Select the sales period if the item will go to auction or to classified ads. Don’t set too long sell-off periods for too many products, because people usually make more bids on the last day.

9. Specify a payment method, such as PayPal, Skrill, credit card or debit card.

Then, list the shipping costs or several shipping options that the buyer can choose from. Offer free shipping or free pick-up as a product marketing tactic.

10. Select a delivery option

Determine whether the shipping rate will be uniform or calculated based on the buyer’s address. International shipping will also generate more potential customers.

11. Add an item return policy and other additional instructions

Determine whether returns are allowed. Defining a policy (even a non-return policy) can increase sales if it’s clearly stated.

12. Click the link to review the ad before it’s published

Preview allows you to detect errors that may be in the ad. Edit ad to enhance it before publishing.

13. Click List to officially post an ad

You will be charged an advertising fee to the account that has been set, or billed on a monthly basis.

Last Point: Manage Ads

1. Sign in to eBay using your buyer/seller account.
2. Click the Sell link at the top of each page.
3. Click on the ad to revise it.
You can edit your ad to make it more attractive if there are no buyers or bidders yet.
4. Check this site every 24 hours to see if your item has sold
Notify the buyer when the item has been sold and shipped.
5. Ask buyers to leave feedback to improve your seller account rating
