Treatment

In most cases, cysts will disappear on their own with time. In small cysts that don’t cause any symptoms and don’t need to take any action.

  • Surgical operation by directly slashing the skin above it and then removing the cyst. Cyst recurrence can be prevented by not moving the joint where the cyst is located for 1-2 weeks.
  • Aspiration (aspiration). However, this method has a recurrence rate of 50%.
  • Arthroscopy. The technique is carried out by inserting a tool such as a small pair of binoculars in the joint to see the entire cyst, then lifting it. After this technique, the patient is free to move the joint.
