5 Real Behaviors of Parents According to a Teacher’s Viewpoint

Being a teacher gives an advantage to a person, to be closer to members of the community.

In dealing with matters related to the learning and growth of children in the community, teachers have to deal with various types of individual behavior, whether good or bad, positive or negative.

The writer is fortunate to have several acquaintances who are teachers. As a result of our conversation, the writer can conclude that there are generally five negative aspects of parents’ behavior that should be improved, in order to improve the level of education of our future generation.

1. I like to hand over the child’s education to the teacher

The main factor that is a big problem for teachers is the attitude of a handful of parents who are happy to give up the responsibility of educating their children, to the appointed teacher. Unfortunately, this action clapped one hand.

For productive teachers, teachers will provide a method for parents to review and sign their child’s work. Often they find no feedback occurs from the expected caregiver.

While such a room is made to help parents understand and directly monitor the level of development of their children.

What is often made into an issue is the issue of lazy teachers but at the same time, many parents still fail to understand the academic level of their own children to the point that some do not know their children’s true abilities.

This leads to a big problem that is rarely talked about which is…

2. There are parents who do not know that their children lack basic education

We do not know what happens in families where the mother or father does not know their child is still lacking in basic knowledge; write, read and count despite having been in school for several years.

Such an incident did happen! What is more surprising, many such parents only find out about the actual level of their child’s performance after being informed by the teacher.

Our question as outsiders – aren’t the times when students are at home, allowing parents to self-assess their child’s abilities in these three basic things? Are they so busy that even a child who is not good at reading is not known by his parents?

Even more unfortunate, although there are a few who realize that their children are very weak in academics – there does not seem to be a more accurate effort from the guardians in improving their children’s abilities. Maybe because.

3. Accept the fact that ‘my child is not good at learning’

One of the biggest constraints in educating is when teachers have to deal with parents who take a contented approach only with what happened to their child.

Redha, their approach is less correct. They are more happy to give up and just accept their children’s academic inadequacies than to try to fix them.

This is because for such parents – ‘their child is not as smart as others’ or ‘he is not interested in learning’ and many other reasons are used as arguments.

What is worrying, such parents do not see education as something of value to their child’s future.

They argue than they are wasting sweat and time, trying to change their child’s mindset – it is better that all that effort is directed at shaping the child’s skills in one area; so that at least his son has the skills so that he can get a job.

4. Overindulging the child with the phone

Many today’s parents deck the bustle of fulfilling responsibilities at work, choosing to allow their children to live with a phone, no matter by watching non-stop videos or playing video games.

School teachers are already upset with cases where students are sleepy in class. The reason – play ‘games’ until 3 am. When asked if parents do not forbid playing games until they can’t sleep, students usually answer no.

In some more unique and critical situations, teachers have to deal with the problem of parents who are addicted to the phone. Children who are eager to go to school often skip school.

In the notification message, the child was said to be unwell.

The next day when asked why the student did not come yesterday, the student who is not good at lying will honestly answer ‘last night my father/mother played on the phone until morning, he woke up late.’

5. Many are lazy to find out, but are quick to get angry

Netizens and the public often see things from their perspective as outsiders. Civil servants such as teachers are often the victims of criticism, when they are accused of failing to carry out their duties as desired by society.

The case of teachers being attacked by parents who are too in favor of their own children, the school being ridiculed due to contagious issues – all of which has become the acid test of being an educator in the era of social media.

There are also more and more parents these days who are more comfortable spreading an issue, rather than having a good discussion to deal with problems that arise because they think that is a more effective solution.

While the way of discussion between the school and parents is always open. The fact is, only a handful of parents really want to use it. Called to attend PTA meetings, never seen face.

Ask to fill out a suggestion or feedback form regarding school improvement, it is rare that good feedback is received. When a controversial issue arises, many parents are suddenly smart about everything, wise in everything and have many suggestions to help solve it.
